Mary’s Meals approached Global Language Services Ltd to assist with rectifying a project that had run into some issues.

We had previously transcribed the Mary’s Meals promotional video ‘Mary’s Meals, A Fruit of Medjugorje’ and provided an English transcript that would later be used for subtitles. The client had created these subtitles in various languages in-house and then had sought the assistance of a subtitling company to embed the subtitles in their video. However, when the French text was run through the subtitling software nothing matched up. The client therefore sought our help to rectify this issue. Our French linguist reviewed the files and matched up the relevant text to its corresponding time segment on the film. The Linguist also amended the translation where appropriate. The project was received well. The subtitling company were then able to create the video with the correct subtitles.

During both the transcription and editing stages, exposure of the materials was kept to a minimum. As the video was for promotional use and was to be launched on a specific date to the public, we had to ensure that only those directly involved with the project had access to the materials.
